Scope
SLS served as general contractors following Hurricane Harvey in 2017 and provided critical repair and restoration services at Corpus Christi Naval Air Station
In 2017, Hurricane Harvey struck Texas, severely compromising the integrity of commercial, institutional and military facilities along the Gulf Coast, including Corpus Christi Naval Air Station (NAS). The facility sustained damage to structural, roofing, mechanical and electrical systems, as well as equipment and systems required for aircraft maintenance and operations.
Construction manager CH2M Hill engaged SLS as general contractor to provide staged services, with the primary focus on damage assessment and prioritization of repairs. In Phase One, SLS identified buildings and structures requiring stabilization at NAS, Kingsville and other outlying support facilities, subsequently assessing damage and planning emergency repairs necessary for continued operations until permanent stabilization could be implemented.
Phase Two included the execution of repairs according to the developed scopes and priorities. The SLS team completed repairs at NAS and all associated support locations within 60 days of engagement.
