Following FDEM's Notice to Proceed issued on August 6 at 3 p.m., the SLS Response team promptly began setting up the camp, accommodating responders on-site by nightfall. The fully operational base camp provided mobile lodging, sanitation facilities, handwashing stations, light towers, a dining tent, and onsite catering, with breakfast served on the morning of August 7.
The camp was demobilized after 24 hours as the storm's impact was less severe than anticipated, and responders were redeployed to other locations.
