Project Summary

In September 2022 as Hurricane Ian zeroed in on Florida’s Gulf Coast, the SLS Response team was put on standby as the County monitored the storm and tracked where it would make landfall. The standby contract was activated for field catering services on September 29, and the SLS Response team began serving meals within 24 hours.

SLS provided boxed meals to meet emergency responders’ immediate needs for the first 48 hours and began serving three hot meals per day by the third day for a total of more than 28,800 total meals.

 

Menu offerings included hot and cold breakfast options, boxed lunches, plus soft drink, coffee, juice and water beverage choices. Lunch and dinner meals consisted of a standard portion of protein, starch, fruit, vegetable and salad option.
