Project Summary

On August 27, 2020, Hurricane Laura made landfall as a Category 4 hurricane near Cameron, Louisiana, with winds reaching 150 mph. The devastation was widespread, with severe flooding and extreme damage to homes in southwestern Louisiana and southeastern Texas.

SLS mobilized within 24 hours to set up two strategically located TxDOT base camps in Beaumont and Jasper to provide for the well-being of responders and personnel.

At the base camp in Jasper, SLS provided three sleeping tents, showers and restrooms, food and ice, power, fuel, HVAC, and fresh, black, and grey water service. In Beaumont, we supplied food, laundry service, restrooms and showers to the site.
