Project Summary

SLS is delivering flood protection and site reconstruction services at Pier A Plaza and The Battery as part of the South Battery Park City Resiliency Project. Scope includes installation of deployable flip-up gates, reinforced concrete flood walls, elevation enhancements, and exposed flood walls spanning the Battery Tunnel Underpass and Brooklyn-Battery Tunnel.  Work also includes near-surface drainage isolation (NSI) improvements with installation of an interceptor isolation gate to prevent storm surge backflow and protect adjacent streets during flood events.
