California CA29 Border Project

Project Summary

SLS was tasked by the US Army Corps of Engineers (USACE) to replace 15 miles of an outdated pedestrian wall with a 30-foot-tall steel bollard wall in California, with 11 miles in Calexico and 3 miles in Tecate. Additionally, they replaced up to 14 miles of secondary fence along the California-Mexico border.

Throughout the project, SLS collaborated with various governmental and international agencies, overseeing 10 subcontractors and more than 200 employees. They managed material orders, deliveries, contractor schedules, and safety and security personnel.

This project was part of the federal program to secure the US-Mexico border, and SLS provided innovative solutions while navigating challenging political, environmental, and security conditions, effectively managing risk and maintaining a contingency response mindset.
