North Carolina Leaders Highlight Progress in Hurricane Helene Recovery

Governor Josh Stein and First Lady Anna Stein (pictured on the right) recently joined program leaders to recognize continued recovery efforts through the Renew NC Single-Family Housing Program, highlighting the ongoing work to provide safe, resilient housing solutions for North Carolina families impacted by Hurricane Helene. 

Built by SLS, the newly completed accessible home includes features designed to support independent living while helping residents rebuild and move forward with confidence. The project reflects the continued progress being made to restore housing and strengthen communities across western North Carolina. 

As recovery efforts continue, projects like this demonstrate the importance of delivering safe, resilient housing solutions that help families move forward and support long-term recovery throughout the region.
