Project Summary

In September 2017, Hurricane Maria devastated Puerto Rico just weeks after Hurricane Irma impacted the island. Both storms left thousands of residents without housing.

 

The Puerto Rico DOH activated SLS to take charge in a comprehensive STEP program to mobilize temporary housing and debris cleanup, to support the process of rebuilding permanent housing. 
 
SLS completed over 27,500 homes in just under a year at a rate of approximately 1,800 homes per week.
